#ICYMI Thornsmouth gets its name from the blackthorn crops traditionally grown in the area for centuries, both for fine hedges and as the main ingredient in sloe gin, which is macerated over months to produce the sweet liquor by the barrelful. Blackthorn's Close has always been a wonderful place for a walk, but in the time of our town's founders, it was truly a place for calm peaceful reflection among the trees and shrubs.
